Any ideas as to why iTunes for Windows XP Pro is now hanging? It didn't seem to have this problem when I only had the iPod Touch, but now I have the new iPhone 3GS and it seems to hang almost every time I start it now. I have the latest updates on iTunes. Hangs whether I start iTunes by windows start or if it start as a result of my plugging in my iPhone.

Desperately need some help. I just spent a very (very) long time going through my entire music collection making sure all album art is present and all tags are corrected to my preferences. Now I want to back up the entire drive (F: drive, I keep my music on a separate drive) to a new hard drive (H: drive). However, in the process I've noticed that not all the changes that I made to the tags have actually saved to the tags themselves, even though they continue to display correctly in iTunes. If I load them into another application or reload them into iTunes from the new drive, not all the tag changes I made in iTunes are showing up. It seems iTunes is perhaps storing this tag info in some kind of internal database? To be specific I am not talking about meta-data like ratings and number of times played. I'm talking about artist, genre, etc.
So my question is this: is there some way to force iTunes to save the data that is currently displayed in iTunes to the ID3 tags?
I've also been disappointed to find out that when adding album artwork, iTunes does not actually save the artwork to the ID3 tags as I assumed. Any way I can force iTunes to do that?

iTunes will not sync new music to iPod ...
My iPod Touch has synced fine with iTunes before, but in the last couple of days, whenever I get new music and add it to my library and connect my iPod to my computer, the new music will not sync over to the iPod. I have tried checking manually sync iPod, sync only selected songs, gone through and made sure the new music was set to sync over, everything.

last week VIsta crashed on my comp for no apparent reason. techies fixed it and recoverd most of my data but NOT my itunes library which i also had NOT backed up online. they installed the most updated version of vista and i've since reloaded itunes onto it. is there anyway for me to get my hundreds of dollars worth of songs reloaded onto my comp? is there a way to contact itunes to download the ones i've already purchased for a second time? they are definately nowhere in my computer. please help!

I'm running Windows 7 in boot camp next to Snow Leopard. As 7 can see mac drives, I decided to link it to my iTunes library on the OS X partition (E:/Users/John/Music/iTunes) but when I click OK, nothing chans in my library... Where am I going wrong? Both OS X and 7 run iTunes v9.0.2.
Any assistance is welcome.

At regular intervals, when using iTunes, I will click on something, for example the search box and a box will appear saying "the iTunes Library file cannot be saved. You do not have enough privileges for this operation". Can anyone tell me what this is all about? It doesn't seem to have any adverse effect, but it is very annoying.

itunes will not play playlist ...
I just installed itunes on my new computer and have tried SEVERAL times to get it to play my playlists/library as a jukebox with no success. Instead I have to manually select the next song then hit the play button. I tried clicking the shuffle and repeat buttons but that doesnt work either. When I click the forward/back buttons nothing happens. Guess I need to go back to windows media player.

Move Library to a NAS? ...
I have my iTunes library on my local hard drive. I plan to buy a ReadyNAS Duo soon and want to store my library there so that all my PC's/Laptops on my home network can access my music, videos, podcasts, applications etc.
Should I just copy my C:\My Documents\My Music\iTunes folders to a mapped drive on the NAS, start iTunes using the shift button, and poin it to the new location?
Can the various iTunes handle open files? Any other method to do this?
By the way, ReadyNAS has a firefly iTunes server, but that serves up only music files, AFAIK. Is using that different from using the shares on the NAS as a drive and put the library on it?
I am basically looking for pointers on using a shared library on a NAS (especially any ReadyNAS users).

I have a clean, new Windows 7 install - all of this hardware played nice in Vista. Windows 7 Ultimate / MOTU 828 mkii audio interface. All latest drivers for audio.
I have some songs (as MP3) with pronounced stereo separation - when I play a file with WMP, it's fine - clear stereo separation. When I play the same file with iTunes, it's a jumbled mono playback.
All other sound apps (Windows sounds, etc) seem to maintain the separate channels. Help, please!!

Problem with Podcast button in iTunes ...
After downloading the new iTunes update, I have the following problem. When I click on the Podcasts button to update the podcasts downloaded onto my iPod, I get a message that Windows has encountered a problem and needs to shut down. Is the problem related to QuickTime?

Does anyone know if there is a way to edit songs on i-Tunes? I play the music for basketball games and I need to be able to que the song at a certain spot instead of having to move each song to time spot on each time out. Any ideas?

Can you use an ipod on both computers( 1 is using Windows XP, the other is using Windows Vista 64) and have the same itunes account on both computers? Thanks for any help!

My iTunes program will not recognise my iTouch. I got this message,
"iTunes could not connect to this iPhone because an unknown error occurred (OxE8000065"
Despite what the message says, the device is an iTouch. I have tried downloading iTunes again but it made no difference.
Anyone had this sort of problem before?

Downloaded iTunes, now computer freezes ...
I recently updated to the latest version of iTunes and when I come to sync my iPhone/iPod Nano, the computer totally freezes (including mouse cursor and music).
iTunes support told me that it could be due to out-of-date drivers, however I've updated all my drivers and the problem persists.
Any ideas on how to fix this problem would be appreciated.

As of the 9.0.2 update, I've had this issue occur when I play my videos:
The player controls that fade in/out when you hover over them has a bar that lets you seek. This does not work properly.
Seeking through the status window (the one that normally displays song title, artist, etc.), however, works fine.
I haven't tested this on a 32-bit (x86) computer, nor have I tried the other available options for viewing videos in iTunes.

Trouble with certain toons skipping ...
Sometimes when I upload one of my own cd's into iTunes I have a problem with skipping, ironically it only occurs on maybe one tune per disc. I have been uploading using AAC Encoder. Is there another method I should be using to upload that would avoid this problem. Please advise. THANKS!

I replaced my older computer with a new one with windows 7....i must have had multiple copies of songs on my external hard drives and when I added from them I got duplicate songs....the big problem is they show all added on same date....so if you have an idea of how to remove them with out doing in one by one please let me know...

iTunes (9.0.1.) freezes while sync with ...
Rather annoying this. From what I read 9.0.1. should have fixed this bug. Basically when I sync music the song(s) do get transferred but the iPhone goes in to an eternal state of synchronising and iTunes freezes after about ~30 seconds. No errors or anything, just freezes. Music keeps playing though.
Anyway, I performed a 'clean' uninstall for iTunes and all affiliated software using the miniguide on the applesite but to no avail. I don't think resetting the iPhone will fix anything since this problem clearly exists within iTunes.
Of course I could just go back to an older version but then i'd have to resync (and thus reset) my Iphone to an older iTunes library which is too much of a hassle. Besides, it's matter of principle now. i NEED TO FIX THIS!
Idea's anyone?
