Lately every time I close Itunes it has a problem. Every time I restart it, it trys to reimport the library and then says it was corrupted. This is a real annoyance to me. For then I have to go back in and re add the files and folders to the library, reupdate genius, restart home sharing, redownload the artwork. And when I add back the podcasts they all have lost their release dates, so I have to delete them and re download them. For Itunes will not just readd that back when updateing the podcasts.
I have my library stored on an external drive, because the drive in my computer is too small to hold it all.
I even set the itunes folder to the external drive, and yet itunes still creates two sets of library files(external drive and internal drive), instead of just keeping one on the external drive. I dont want it storeing the library on the internal drive at all. Is there a registry setting that can be modified to stop this?
Apple really needs to think about adding in automatic library searching and folder watching like other applications has such as Winamp and Windows Media Player. I never have any problem with either of them storing the library correctly.
