AAC and AIFF file not play ...

HI

I installed both Quicktime Pro 7.6.4 and iTunes 9.0.1.8 on XP Pro SP3.

Now, though, with Windows Explorer, I click on an mp3 or wav file, iTunes is activated and these files are played correctly. While, when I click on an AAC or AIFF file, iTunes is activated , but I do not see these files from anywhere and they are not even played. Why?
