how do i prove i really didn't receive the item?

ok here is the problem, the tracking of the item showed it is delivered to my house but it is not and i never get the item. and now i try to filed a claim that i didn't receive the item but i have nothing to prove it. do you guys know how do i protect myself to get refund?|||Did you talk to your local post office? I would take a screen print of the delivery confirmation to the PO and talk to the staff there.|||If it was sent with Delivery Confirmation, I don't believe you would be eligible for a refund. Be sure to check with anyone else in your house or your neighbors - sometimes it's delivered to the wrong address (I've had them left at my neighbors' before).|||i did check my family and neighbors i even asked the mailman, he said he dont remember delivered it. i think the item is mailed to somewhere wrong by accident.||||||"i print the tracking out and asked the USPS they said they going to investigate it but they just called me after 2 days that they can't find it." Typical local Post Office answer. You need to file a report with the Postal Inspectors. They will light a fire under the local PO and investigate, exactly where the item was delivered. It may take a month or so, but they usually do find the package or at least where it was delivered. Since your seller has valid D/C showing delivered, you need to work with the Postal office/PO Inspectors. Neither Ebay , nor Paypal will honor a claim when the D/C shows delivered. Go to this link, make a report with the Postal Inspectors now. (click the work link) Link Your post local PO is just being lazy and the Postal inspectors need to investigate. It is possible, it was delivered to your address and someone stole the package. Your local PO should be taking a report of mail theft at the very least. The matter is now between you and the Postal Office/Postal inspectors.|||I would confirm with the Delivery Confirmation number the package was sent to the correct address and zip. I had a package recently(non Ebay) that was scanned in by hand at a Texas PO. The postal clerk transposed 2 numbers on the zip code and it showed delivered. The Postal Inspectors were able to track down the package and redeliver. It took about 2 months, but without contacting the PO Inspectors, that would not have happened.|||Do NOT blame this on your seller. They did everything right and they do not owe you a refund.||||||but all i have is the tracking number can Postal Inspectors really find out where the item is with it?|||i did nothing wrong too, why can't i get something return or atleast half of the money i paid? The seller sent the item, so he no longer has it. The seller paid the shipping fee. The delivery confirmation shows it as delivered. The POST OFFICE is who has screwed you out of your item. Why should the seller dip into his pocket to pay you when he isn't the one who screwed up? Your beef is with the post office.|||||||||----- I had a package delivered in the rain... DC showed delivery but I did not get it... Or so I thought! Two weeks later I opened the barbecue and there it was - safe and sound and out of the rain! ------|||"i did nothing wrong too, why can't i get something return or atleast half of the money i paid?" You can get something in return, if you would listen and follow the advice you have been given. You must go over their head and go straight to the USPS Postal Inspectors, who will light a fire under the local Post Master and the local carrier to do their jobs. The postal inspectors have ways to check/investigate when, who and where the package was handled once it arrived at your local PO. Just file the stolen/lost/ not delivered report with the postal inspectors. As stated above, your issue is with the USPS as your seller did everything they were suposed to do. The PO did not. Here are the links you need. They will take a report right over the phone. LinkLink Call 1-877-876-2455
