to send seller a message ebay wants credit card
Hi, I am new to ebay. I created an ebay account and a paypal account. I wanted to send a seller a question on shipping because it says freight please contact seller for details. I clicked on "send seller message" and then wrote my message and when I clicked send it brought me to a screen that asked me to put a credit card on file to keep ebay safe. So I did and clicked continue. Then it brought me to a screen that told me to create a seller account. This is where I thought something is wrong, ebay wants me to create a seller account just so I can ask a seller a question about buying something? They won't let me send any questions without a seller account? I don't want to sell anything, just buy somethings. Doesn't make sense to me that I have to set up a seller account if I want to ask a seller a question. Can someone explain this to me? Thanks|||i'd hope it's just a glitch in the system, but it might not hav3e been eBay you gave that information to. call the credit card and see if any charges have been made you didn't make. i've never had a credit card on file to ask a ?|||That might be happening because your eBay and PayPal accounts aren't linked. Go to My eBay > Account > PayPal Account. Scroll down a little and there is a "Link My PayPal Account" button. That takes you to a PayPal page. Enter your PayPal email address and password, then click the "Link Your Account" button. Then click on the Return to eBay button to complete the process. If you scroll down a little there will be information indicating your eBay and PayPal accounts are linked. I think as a new member you will be pretty severely limited in how many messages a day you can send. It may be as few as one to begin with. This is to make the site spammer-unfriendly.|||I'd think about changing your accounts' passwords PDQ! There is nothing normal about that. I've never had my Paypal account linked or any payment info whatever on eBay.In a perfect world, we'd all have a thought bubble over our heads containing the last anonymous comment we posted online.|||This sounds like a phishing scam & IMO ck with the CC co to make sure no recent charges unauthorized by you. Change passwords in ISP, ebay & PP post haste|||
