Seller Added Charge After Auction Was Finished
I won an auction at its starting bid. The auction also had free shipping. My invoice shows that the seller added a charge after the auction closed. It's not a shipping charge; the seller obviously just wants more money. I contacted the seller asking the reason for the extra charge, but so far have not heard back. I've never had a problem with a seller before. (I'm not new to eBay. I was a buyer and seller several years ago.) Is this legal? If I can't reslove this with the seller, what should I do? Thanks!|||Is it a handling fee?Need a website fast?|||If this is for the cinch mounts, I don't see anything in the listing about a handling fee so you should wait for the seller to respond. They can't charge you for insurance. How much was the charge and what does the invoice say it's for? is it in the shipping fee section of the invoice?Need a website fast?|||No, it's not a handling charge. It is listed next to "seller discount/added". The amount is $2.29. It looks like she decided to charge per item, but I didn't know you could do that after the fact. Interesting. . .|||The seller cannot do that. It is a reportable offense. You should not pay it. If the seller will not take it daway, then take the UID strike and appeal it, and report the seller.|||Sellers are allowed a handling charge.Need a website fast?|||I would wait for the seller to respond to see if it's an added fee or supposed to be a discount. I once tried to do a discount like that but it ended up being a charge! I would email the seller again if you don't hear from them today. You could also go to live chat and ask about that. Go to "contact us" at the top left of the page and fiddle around with each choice until the live chat box comes up.Need a website fast?||||||File this report if the seller doesn't remove the charge. Seller cannot add a handling fee after the auction ends on a Free Shipping auction. Link choose Problems with Sellers, then choose Seller Asked For Additional Fees (Auction Ended), click on Continue and then Email Us
